The work of local artists and architects will be featured in the coming months in vacant storefronts along Welton Street in the Five Points neighborhood.
Hyperform Design Co-op, with Keos Marketing Group, plan to feature the work of architects beginning next month through the 5 Points Jazz Festival on May 19.
“The idea behind it is to, one, really beautify the neighborhood” said Keo Frazier, a Five Points Business District board member and owner of Keos Marketing Group. “It’s also attractive for people who might eventually lease it or buy it.”
Previous displays of the storefront initiative have been placed at Denver Pavilions and the Colorado Convention Center.
In addition, Colorado Creative Giving T.A.B.L.E. issued a call for entries this week for its 5 Points Storefront Art Movement. According to the website, coloradocreative.org, “artist entries must be rooted in, and depict the culture of Five Points.”
The organization is planning to feature the work of 10 artists, who will each receive a $500 stipend. The work will be on display from the jazz festival through November.
